Basic Needs Support
Purpose
The Basic Needs Support program at the University of Utah in partnership with the
Center for Campus Wellness is designed to provide comprehensive basic needs support
and assistance to students. Basic needs are the everyday essentials that every student
requires to live and learn well. Essential needs can include food, housing, health
and wellness, financial stability, childcare, transportation, clothing access, and
more!
The Basic Needs Collective provides case management support to help students learn
about and connect with campus and community resources to help them meet their basic
needs. We believe that when students’ basic needs are met, they can fully engage in
their classes, campus life, and future plans. Our goal is to connect you with the
support and resources to make that possible.
The program also plays a crucial role in raising awareness about basic needs and promoting a campus culture that prioritizes accessibility, stability, and holistic wellbeing.

Connect with a Basic Needs Resource Coordinator
We believe in empowering you to make informed decisions around wellbeing to support and meet your basic needs. We will assist you in navigating resources, processes, and/or services that feel relevant and helpful to you.
During a 45-minute session with a Basic Needs Resource Coordinator, we will help identify and connect you with available resources that cater to your unique needs. Sessions can take place in-person at our location in the Union basement or virtually!
