Student Health Insurance
Good health is essential to your academic success, and adequate insurance enables you to get the care you need to maintain good health. The University of Utah and ASUU strongly encourage all students to have health insurance and are able to offer a health insurance plan through United Healthcare Student Resources.
Medicaid Enrollment
Certain college students might also be eligible for Medicaid. Check out the video below for more information on Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. For questions regarding eligibility and free assistance with Medicaid enrollment, contact the Take Care Utah health access assisters at the link below.

Mental Health
University Counseling Center
The University Counseling Center staff is committed to supporting the mental health needs of students. We are offering 30-minute single-session/triage appointments and crisis services by phone. If you are an enrolled University of Utah student, call 801.581.6826 to speak with a counselor.
We are also providing Telemental Health services for ongoing clients of the UCC via HIPAA compliant Zoom.

SafeUT
The SafeUT Crisis Chat and Tip Line is a statewide service that provides real-time crisis intervention to youth through live chat and a confidential tip program – right from your smartphone.
Licensed clinicians in our 24/7 CrisisLine call center respond to all incoming chats and calls by providing supportive or crisis counseling, suicide prevention, and referral services.
Emotional Health Hotline
A new hotline has been established in the state for those feeling increased anxiety due to the pandemic. It is called “Emotional Health Relief Hotline” and can be reached at 833-442-2211. They are open from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm seven days a week.

CSW Victim-Survivor Advocacy
Center for Student Wellness offers free and confidential VSA services for any student, faculty, or staff who have experienced sexual, family, or relationship violence, stalking, and/or harassment.
Victim Advocacy with DPS
Victim Advocacy with the Department of Public Safety is available by email, phone, or video call. A Victim Advocate is available to talk through your options, discuss what it’s like to make a police report, how to get a protective order, and any number of other things you have on your mind. Folks are welcome to email or call us with any questions.
